Sylpheed vs Thunderbird

Good review on Sylpheed as I need (so is the follow ups): http://my.opera.com/spikly_guy/blog/2007/10/03/trying-out-sylpheed-as-an-alternative-to-thunderbird (Trying out Sylpheed as an alternative to Thunderbird).

  1. Ga jadi nyari email client yg bisa baca ~/Mail folder punya kmail (thanks to mail list telling the distant between kmail and sylpheed file structure.
  2. Make 3 email client sekaligus di desktop, dan 2 di laptop/rumah buat bacaan di rumah.

sylpheed, icedove or cronosii ?

dunno yet
some reqs: fast and works fine with its address book.

and, hey, my gatotkaca account works with icedove but not with kmail.
what take me so long to figure this...
Thanks God for making me turn around to my old M300 laptop.

Enak/enggaknya UMPC

Enak:
  1. Buat diangkut2 keman-mana, terutama kalau SPJ
  2. Buat presentasi ke client

Gak enak:
  1. Bikin leher pegel dan mata sepet
  2. Soal tahan berapa lama didepan UMPC, ya kalau ada desktop dengan layar 17" dan resolusi 1280 seperti yg di meja kantor, kayaknya "UMPC cuman jadi eksternal hard disk doang". Heh he, itu kata lulusenrique_666.

Kesimpulan:
Setelah dapet pinjeman dari mbak Novi, ah gak jadi beli UMPC. Enakan beli kambing aja. Loh, apa hubungannya ya. Yaa selama M300 masih bisa buat ditenteng, mending nggedein monitor di rumah. Biar enak...

turning back on wiki

moinmoin got new big fan: wiki.ubuntu.com. or its not very new. as long as it is for me.
cool.
drawback will be python.

nucleus, wordpress, b2evolution

Which one? It goes to wordpress.
Nucleus is skinny, b2evo is fat. Wordpress is slower than nucleus but it's worth. And it's got wp moo.
So compatibility would be a plus.

kmail compatible

Perhaps setting up postfix and retrieve mails that way, may be a (complex) solution?

You could set up a local imap server like courier-imap and access your maildirs through that, with disconnected imap the space/access-overhead shouldn’t even be that big.
